When it comes to building and customizing our muscle cars, every little bit helps. When that little bit amounts to a bigger chunk, then it becomes even better, and MSD Performance is offering up some of those bigger chunks for seven weeks with their Lucky 7 promotion. For seven weeks, when you purchase a selected MSD product from an authorized dealer, you get a selected free part along with your purchase.

As an added bonus, by submitting your rebate to MSD you’re automatically entered to win a trip for two to the 2013 SEMA trade show in Las Vegas this fall. That gives you seven chances to enter, and the more rebates you send in, the better your chances are. But you know what they say: you can’t win if you don’t enter, and you can’t get your free parts without sending in your rebate.

This week, MSD is offering up a free Blaster 2 Coil with the purchase of an MSD Pro-Billet Distributor. It’s the perfect combination, because if you’ve been thinking about a new distributor, chances are you were going to upgrade with a new coil, too. MSD takes care of you in that regard with the second week of their Lucky 7 Rebates.

We installed a Pro-Billet Ready-to-Run Distributor in a 1969 Camaro, updating the old, points type ignition system with something far more reliable. As the article states, you shouldn’t expect to gain horsepower with a distributor and coil, but what you should expect to gain is confidence. Horsepower is made with engine components, but a poor ignition system can easily rob you of the power your ignition system needs to keep the engine’s horsepower in check.

While we were there, we took full advantage of the Blaster 2 Coil, like the one feature in the Lucky 7 Rebate (PN# 8202). The Blaster 2 Coil works with MSD 5, 6, adn 7 series ignition boxes, and provides up to 45,000 volts to your spark plugs.

The Pro-Billet Distributor’s housing is CNC machined from billet aluminum, and as you can see from the image above, the old, bulky OE distributor gives plenty of room for the slimmer, and more reliable MSD distributor. Applications for the Pro-Billet Distributor include, but are not limited to, the Ready-to-Run. Any Pro-Billet Distributor, like the Chevy V8 Pro-Billet Distributor, are included in this, the second week, of MSD’s Lucky 7 Rebate Program. But just as we mentioned in the first week’s offer from MSD, you have to send in your rebate in order to get your free Blaster 2 Coil, and also to be automatically entered in the SEMA 2013 drawing.
