Your car is pretty quick; you think it may be the most bad ass car on the street, then you stumble across a video similar to this one that brings you right back down to earth with a deadening thud. In this scenario, that video just happens to feature a Camaro capable of 200+MPH in the standing mile by means of raw, twin turbo LS power. It also happens to crank out in excess of 1800 horsepower. Not only is this car a work of engineering greatness in motion, but it also proves that it can do damage while sitting still… literally.
In this quick clip, we witness what appears to be your average dyno session at first glance. However, as you soon witness, this particular series of events turns into a nightmare in quite a hurry. As the attendant manning the cockpit of this rocket-ship-esque Camaro gets on the throttle, the revs raise a bit and before long not one, but both of the rear drag radials realize that they aren’t worthy of the 1800 horsepower cranked out by this General Motors beast and decide to self destruct.
Unfortunately, the Camaro’s rubber would recognize a similar fate while doing over 200 during a lap down the Texas Mile. Thankfully nobody was seriously injured in either of the events. We’re sure that the owner of thisĀ beast is on their way to constructing something capable of beating their 260+MPH record in what was once “The World’s Fastest Camaro.”
