From 1968 through 1971, Dodge produced the original Super Bee – a monster of a car based on the two-door Dodge Coronet that packed engine choices ranging from the 383 Magnum through the 426 Hemi.

Today’s Super Bee HEMI SRT8 is based on the Dodge Charger – itself a whopper of a car that packs rear-wheel-drive, four doors and a 470 horsepower, 392 cubic inch modern HEMI engine under the hood.

The five-speed automatic transmission is geared for performance, and performance is what shows up when you press the loud pedal to the floor.

This car is completely packed with features; from the front-and-rear Brembo four-piston brakes to the 20-inch wheels outfitted with Goodyear RS-A 2 or optional F1 Supercar tires, the new Super Bee rocks in every sense of the word.

Bilstein dampers reside at all four corners, 2.75-inch diameter exhaust lets you hear the HEMI, and the SRT-tuned suspension keeps things under control.  The car uses a five-speed automatic transmission with Dodge’s Auto Stick option (including paddle shifters) and an electronically-modulated torque converter to assure the power goes where it’s supposed to when it’s supposed to.

We’re especially digging the slick gauges and red illumination – it really helps to set off the dark interior colors of the dash and console area.

Modification options abound with the Super Bee, too. The car comes standard with a Getrag 3.06 rear-gear ratio, meaning that a step up to a set of 3.73’s with a tuner will help you to knock it out of the park. In addition, the HEMI aftermarket is starting to take shape, with more performance parts showing up for these cars every single day.
