Classic Industries is offering its own helping hand with this latest RPO Z20-style exterior components, first seen on the 1988 Firebird. Comprised of spoilers for the deck lid as well as the fronts of the wheel wells, the trim package gave the car a defining and valuable look with less than 800 examples ever built. While owners of early F-bodies have access to reproduction and replacement parts for virtually every limited production package conceived, owners of 1982-92 Firebird and Trans Am models have had to stick to hunting for suitable used parts at swap meets and online auctions. Classic Industries is changing that, and these Z20 style exterior components are the latest example.

1988 Firebirds equipped with the RPO Z20 option featured wheel spoilers, also called spats or fender skirts, at the leading edge of the wheel wells and a unique rear spoiler, giving the car a muscular appearance reminiscent of earlier models. However, this rare option was discontinued before many were produced.

“RPO Z20 was only an option for the 1988 model year, and less than 800 examples are believed to have been sold,“ said Ray Yager, Classic Industries Merchandising Director. “There has been strong interest among enthusiasts, so we developed these products for those who want to give their 1982-92 Firebird a more traditional muscle car look.”
