“Don’t fix what ain’t broke” is a wise principle when it comes to limited edition cars. For Michigan’s Berger Chevrolet, their previous special edition Camaro SS sold out in short order and they see little need to make major adjustments to a winning formula. Part of that comes from a strategic relation with Forgeline Wheels and the staggered 20×9.5-inch front and 20×11-inch rear fitment that is used.
Massive Pirelli P Zero skins, in 275/40 and 305/35 sizes, will continue to be used. This year, though, the Forgeline wheels will be chrome finished, while maintaining the classic, five-spoke design. According to the fourth-generation family president of Berger Chevrolet, Matthew Berger, “The biggest performance improvement is the combination of a new rear sway bar and wider 11-inch rear wheels which we have specified to help tame the car’s tendency to understeer.”
That understeer was, in part, driven by the output from the car’s supercharged 6.2-liter V8, which tips the scales at 550 hp. Aided by a Berger chambered stainless steel Cat-back exhaust system, Hurst Billet/Plus 2 short throw shifter and suspension revisions, the Berger Camaro SS can put that power where it needs to be – on the road.
The Berger Camaro SS is further distinguished by custom painted Rally stripes, a black-Out front grill and rear tail light panel, Berger floor mats and car cover, a number of other logos and badges, including the “Prescribed Power by Berger” numbered dash plaque.
The best part about these Camaros is that they come with their 3-year/36,000-mile powertrain warranty intact!
