We love burnouts. And we love donuts. What self-respecting musclecar fan doesn’t? In this video we get a sweet look and sound at a couple of machines that terrorize the asphalt in a compilation video.
We take the high road and grade the winner and loser on their performances. Yes, we realize that wasn’t really the intent of the video, but we also know you’ll be doing the same thing at home.
From the Cobra kit car that annihilates the tires in a small space to the third-gen Camaro that takes up half a parking lot to do the deed, we get lots of smoke, shredded tires, and the sweet, sweet sound of American horsepower at full song.
We’ll give the Winner spot to the owner of the Cobra kit machine – he gets ’em so nice and smoky that we can’t even see the car by the end. Not to mention having the wherewithal to toss up the devil horns for a couple of revolutions, while controlling the car and not ending up in the bushes on the far side.
We can also appreciate the Shelby owner, just for taking the time and effort to whip the $55,000 machine into a frenzy, even though he doesn’t turn in much of a donut effort. Those 20-inch meats are expensive – we don’t blame him one bit.
The yellow Firebird gets the Loser spot for using wet pavement – who needs wet pavement to do a good donut in a musclecar? And not even a single hint of smoke.
The car itself doesn’t even sound too healthy…he should have stayed home that day. Heck, even the one-wheel-peel black Firebird gets a good smoky donut going!
Enjoy the video!
