The Blues Brothers is one of those legendary movies many of us remember from our childhood – Dan Aykroyd and the legendary John Belushi together on one comedy movie is hard to forget, and the number of quotable lines that came from it are many.
If you’re a fan of stop-action video, you have to check this one out! LEGOs are one of those toys we all remember as kids – they were the initial building blocks for many of us that are immersed in the automotive hobby today.
This awesome frame-by-frame re-enactment of the famous Blues Brothers shopping mall chase scene was put together by the folks at Bricktease and is absolutely stunning in its rendering. Belushi and Aykroyd did a great job of acting out the scenes in the original movie, but this video is on another level.
We can only begin to imagine the amount of time it took to put this together and shoot it. Stop-action video is one of those things we should all stand in awe to witness – it’s simply mind-bending when you think about all of the individual LEGO parts and pieces that were needed to recreate the scene effectively.
Each portion is painstakingly recreated as close to the original as possible using nothing more than LEGOs. Think about that – the cars, the people, even the ‘windows’.
Not only did someone have to figure out what LEGO pieces needed to be used, they had to be assembled, then shot, one frame at a time, moving the pieces ever-so-slightly, to take the next frame of the video.
Once the shooting aspect of the video is completed, someone needs to edit the video together, syncing it with the audio clips…it’s almost unbelievable to imagine the amount of time and energy and imagination that went into this production.
We love LEGOs. You probably do too. You owe it to yourself to check this one out – and you can do so, in full HD video, by simply clicking the link. Awesome!
