Among Mopar fans, the 1969 Dodge Charger RT is considered to be one of the greatest Chargers of all time. This Charger is loved for its hellish styling and superb performance. These cars have become rare over the years, however we happened to come across one while cruising through Ocean County, New Jersey.
This Charger is an original 440 R/T with a period correct 440 underneath the hood. This motor is complete with the orange 440 Magnum air filter, but it’s not the original numbers matching engine. It’s mated to a 727 Torqueflite transmission with a console shifter on the floor.
A shiny coat of Forest green covers the exterior, courtesy of the previous owner. The original color was the desirable B5 blue which can be seen peeking out from under the hood.
The period correct 440 and the B5 Paint on the hood.
A full black leather interior with two buckets up front and a bench in the rear sits inside the car. Wooden trim can be seen along the doors and on the center console. The metal of the car is all there and it’s frame rails are solid. The Charger must have been well taken care of over the years as no rust can be seen despite living in the humid Ocean County climate.
The car was fully restored 10 years ago and may need a little TLC to revive it’s perfect condition. This Charger would be a great platform for a factory restoration or to build a street machine. The car is located in Point Pleasant and the asking price is $29,500.
