One of the more popular vehicles for little kids is the Little Tikes Cozy Car. It’s not exactly sporty looking, and is a completely purpose built plastic car that two small children can roll around in. It isn’t great for downhill runs, the motion and steering are done with your feet, and it’s a bit top heavy – looking more like a Smart car for kids.
Over the years, we’ve seen funny memes showing one on the dyno, or a kid crawling under it as if he’s repairing it, and it’s all funny and cute. But then we saw one that hit the world wide web and had to actually do a double-take because it appeared to be either a very good Photoshop or someone went a little overboard with the fun stuff.
Sure enough, the pictures we saw were real, and backed up by video proof that someone, namely John and Geoff Bitmead of Oxfordshire, UK, had actually built a full-size version of the Little Tikes vehicle. Not only did they build one that looked just like it, they even took it out for a drive and have been cruising in it all over town.
What started out as a Daewoo Matiz four-door econobox was cut and chopped up until the shape began to take on the appearance of the Little Tikes car, and from what we can see, it looks like he nailed it. Fortunately, the car supplies it’s own power, and steering is done normally – not by dragging your feet! Would you cruise the boulevard in this custom “Big Tikes” cruiser?
