Hot Rods by Dean is a shop which bears the motto “You Dream it-We Build It.” Nowhere is this motto more exemplified than in the owner Dean Livermore’s 1969 Chevy Chevelle. His Chevelle is an Automotive work of art which is the perfect blend of old world craftsmanship with new world performance.
The excellent craftsmanship can be seen throughout the entire exterior. The body is smooth with a clean polished metal trim and it’s ocean blue paint suits it well. The cowl induction is not only functional it also improves the cars smooth visual lines.
A rumbling 489 big-block Chevy stroker lies underneath the hood. This stroker was built from a GM 4-bolt main big-block. It has several goods such as an Eagle crank & connecting rods, JE floating pistons and Comp Cams roller cam make up the internals. Edelbrock rectangle ported heads, a Weiand dominator manifold and a race prepped 1150 Holley dominator carb sit a top the engine. The engine is fired to life by MSD Pro Billet distributor & MSD 6AL ignition box. The engine makes 11:1 compression and has been dynod for 613 horsepower & 555 lb-ft of torque.

The 489 is tied to a Tremec TKO 600 5 speed which runs 12 bolt posi with 4:11 gears and c-clip eliminator. The vibrato from the 489 travels through custom fabricated headers into custom 3 inch exhaust and through Flowmaster 40 series mufflers to play one of the sweetest songs you have ever heard.
Underneath the body is a Air Ride Technologies Strong Arm Front Suspension with Shock Wave air bags and Hotchkis sway bar and rear Air Ride Technologies Strong Arm kit with air bags and Hotchkis Sway Bar. The suspension is adjusted by a complete Air Ride self leveling kit with tanks and pumps hidden under the package tray in trunk. For rollers, 17-inch Torque Thrust II wheels sit on all four corners which are wrapped in Goodyear tires.
The stock interior was restored, complete with the original radio. External gauges are hidden in the cowl induction. Dean has demonstrated fine shop’s fine craftsmanship with his Chevelle.
