Hotchkis Sport Suspension was founded by former professional racecar drivers, and has been making musclecars handle better for a couple of decades. You’ve likely seen them in YouTube videos, at autocross events, and on many websites all over the internet. Their entire staff is dedicated to making muscle cars do more than just straight-line racing with suspension products like their TVS (Total Vehicle System) for classic and modern musclecars alike. But now Hotchkis is taking their expertise to the drag races.

Yes, you read that right, because beginning March 29-30 at Auto Club Dragway in Fontana, California, Hotchkis will be hosting a new autocross series at the NMCA West Drag Racing Series this weekend. The three-event autocross series will continue at Fontana on June 21-22 and October 25-26 this year, with unlimited autocrossing and ride-alongs in Hotchkis demo vehicles.

There will also be a manufacturers midway and admission to the NMCA Drag Races with your registration fees of $50 for either day, or $75 for both Saturday and Sunday. If you don’t have a car to register for the event, spectator passes are available at the gate at $20 for a single day, or $35 for both days, and kids under 12 get in for free.

Registration begins at 7:30 in the morning, with track times running from 9am to 4pm on Saturday and 9am to 3pm on Sunday, with a one-hour lunch break at noon. The autocross event is open to any vehicle that can pass the simple safety inspection, meaning no leaks, and no loose parts that can fall off and become a track hazard.

Since there will only be one car on the track at a time, there is no requirement for additional safety features like roll cages or special restraints, but factory seat belts are required. Registration is still open and can be done at the Hotchkis website, or you can register the day of the event. Registration is simple, and all you need to do is fill out the important information and pay the day you show up, for either a single day, or for both if you show up on Saturday and plan to return on Sunday.

There will be four trophies awarded, and ten special recognition plaques, plus a media vs. manufacturers true street race, so even if you don’t show up to race your own car, you will definitely be entertained with some cool musclecars doing what they were never intended to do: lots of fast turns instead of just going in a straight line!
