Now we feel that SRT and the Dodge brand has gone way too far with their performance brand, and we don’t like it. First, we have to accept that the new Dart is nothing like the old Dart, with four cylinders, four doors and front wheel drive.
The masses have been calling for a performance variant from SRT, with the hopes of seeing a turbo with over 300 horsepower, maybe even all-wheel drive.
But now we have seen too much. The Super Bee moniker has been shamed, and SRT – who has yet to bring out the Hellcat Hemi for us all, has done us wrong.
Will we get the new Barracuda? SRT CEO Ralph Gilles says not likely, at least this month. Will we get a two-door Charger? Doubtful. But what does SRT have up it’s sleeve now?
You’re not going to like it, and we don’t either, but our sources sent us some very grainy shots of the new performance striping on the new Dodge Dart, and from what we can make out it’s called the Bumble Bee. Come on, SRT, Bumble Bee? This has just gone too far.
Last year, Dodge tried to tease us with photos of the 2015 return of the Dodge Stealth, and now this? April Fools Day has just taken this too far. Did it take you for a minute or two? Prank everyone you know, because it’s no fun to have no fun on this day!
