Flying the red, white, and blue this Patriotic Phoenix is not Captain America’s ride but the former flagship vehicle of the Official US Flag Balloon Team (The ones who fly massive patriotic themed balloons in parades). She led the team in parades from 2007 to 2014 before she was retired and replaced by an ’05 Mustang. During her time with the team she participated in numerous parades, fairs and Fourth of July celebrations across the country. She has also graced the pages of a handful of magazines and has been featured in several news segments over the years.
You're a Grand Old Am You're a fast driving am You're the emblem of hot rods that I love.
The Balloon Team acquired her in 2007, she was originally covered in a run of the mill bright metallic green coat. The team amped it up covering her canvas in the signature red, white, and blue. Performance wise her fuel injected LT1 mill is still stock as it was used as a parade vehicle not a hot rod. Despite this, the LT1 still produces 285 horsepower and is capable of 0-60 in 7.1 seconds.
Currently the the US Flag Balloon Team has listed the car for sale on eBay with an asking price of $6,000. We’re not sure how practical of a daily driver she will be but we can honestly say she is guaranteed to attract attention and turn heads no matter where she goes. Perhaps Shield should get on it and purchase this car for Captain America.
