When we first spied this ‘Cuda from HXC Performance we had to do a double take. It’s obviously built off of the new Dodge Challenger, but it honestly looks like legitimate offerings from Mother Mopar, herself. After doing a little homework we now know that HXC Performance, based in Chicago, was founded by Adam Geake for the purposes of developing enthusiast parts for the new Challenger.
The ride you see here is an attempt to showcase those parts, and well, it fooled us for a second, didn’t it? He patterned everything off of the ’71 ‘Cuda to showcase several of his items that include a new grille, fender gills, Shaker hood, tail lights and a new rear valance.
Adam Geake is apparently geeked out by performance as well, because the conversion includes more than just cosmetic items. He’s got a suspension underneath from KW that improves it over stock, so handling is improved. The drivetrain is left as-is, so power should be in line with the same as a showroom Challenger.
In addition to the coupe Adam also has a ‘Cuda convertible that builds in collaboration with the world famous Drop Top Customs. That conversion takes far more effort than the coupe obviously, but the results are terrific.
We think that Adam had better be careful with his ‘Cuda conversion parts, because he may just put himself out of a job. If Chrysler gets a good look at how cool these cars are they may just start to produce them themselves!
