Day two of LS Fest West 2019 was a lot like day one but on a much grander scale. With a much bigger crowd, all of the events were packed with LS enthusiasts watching the different exhibitions.

The most popular event of the day was drifting. As the 30 plus competitors lined up to make their runs, a huge crowd gathered around the course to watch the action. One by one the cars were let loose shredding the tires and filling the air with an abundance of smoke. The drivers would effortlessly pitch the LS-powered machines in and out of the corners with absolute precision. It seems that every driver’s goal was to get as close to the wall without getting into the wall. We don’t even see how these guys can see to navigate the course with all of the smoke that some of these cars emit. What we loved about this event is the different cars in this competition and the variegated of LS power plants. From turbos, superchargers, and high rpm naturally-aspirated engines were all on display.

The drag racing portion on day two also picked up as cars were racing up the strip all day long. Casey Rance out of Belton Texas is at the top of qualifying for two classes at LS Fest this year. He piloted his Nissan 240 to a best of 4.82 at 153 miles per hour in the 1/8 mile in the LS Outlaw class. Casey also managed to take the Texas Speed 2010 Camaro to the top of the list with an 8.36 et at a conservative 127 miles per hour.

On day two we talked to Blane Burnett, Advertising & P.R. Supervisor of Holley Performance Products about LS Fest West 2019 about his thoughts and how the show was going compared to last year. Blane said, “We expect to have over 1,000 cars on display for LS Fest West this year.” 2019 is a big jump from 2018 for LS Fest where there were only 600 cars on display. LS Fest East and West keep growing at a fast-paced rate, and it’s directly related to the LS engine and its popularity. Blane also gave us a tour of the Holley booth and showed all of the new LS parts that Holley now offers for your project vehicles.
