The joy of building a restomod is something many an automotive enthusiast can agree on. It’s soothing and inspiring to pluck apart the old, rotting components of say, a Tri-Five or lead sled, and infuse the car with new technology while keeping the silhouette the same.
As an industry, restomodding has grown to fantastic proportions over the years, and found companies like Restomod Air starting up and thriving on the passion. The company was at SEMA this year to showcase two great products for lovers of the vintage variety–the Air Touch, and Reactor controller–and we talked with general manager Mike Rejkowski to learn more about them.
“The Air Touch is our iOS and Android app for working wirelessly with our A/C units,” said Rejkowski. “It uses Bluetooth connectivity to work from any phone, iPod Touch, iPad, Samsung Galaxy, tablets, et cetera.”
Built into the Air Touch is a diagnostic function as well. “When customers run into trouble, we can give them a helping hand,” said Rejkowski. “Because we’re connecting via Bluetooth, our tech guys can actually log into the system and actually see if the servo motor is wound up, something’s not responding, anything along those lines, and figure out a way to get the unit back up and running.”
Installation-wise, Rejkowksi assured us that the process accommodates the regular, everyday DIYer. “All of our systems are designed for a guy in his garage to put in,” he said. “We put the customer first, where he or she can customize vents, bulkheads, and other items to a theme they want or already have going on in their ride.”
It’s the combination of high-tech innovation and friendly customer service that have and will make Restomod Air a leading choice for years to come. Find out more about the company by either phone or online with the provided contact information below.
