The Hemi has been a staple in the Mopar lineup for years, and in fact, is still super popular in the performance aftermarket as well as the drag racing industry. And while you might think that every performance part has already been manufactured for these engines, companies are still building race-inspired components for these renowned engines.
While at PRI, we stopped by the United Engine & Machine (UEM) booth to see the latest the company had to offer. UEM just released a new piston for the Hemi under its ICON forged piston series.
Daniel Schierholt, engineering manager of UEM, said, “We now offer pistons for the B block with a 4.150- and 4.25-stroke. For the RB block, we have pistons for the stock and aftermarket blocks with 4.25- and 4.5-inch stroke. These are shelf stock items for the 6.760-, 6.535-, and 7.100-inch rods.”
These new forged pistons are available for eight popular combinations for the B and RB engines with B1 heads. And are engineered to handle the most demanding environments. While these pistons are already super durable, you can add UEM’s UltraThermCM thermal barrier coating for maximum heat dispersion while reducing material fatigue.
