One of the marks of a truly great manufacturer and brand like QA1 is the company’s ability to constantly improve – even upon a tried-and-true tested product in the lineup.

We caught up with Damien Brase, QA1’s fitment technician at the 2021 SEMA Show, and he showed us a few new products that hammered that sentiment home.
Damien got right down to it and started by letting us know, “We have a new and improved version of our control arms from QA1 – we discontinued our older version”
We asked him to expound on just what makes the new version of QA1’s famous control arms so much better. He added, “These are a lighter-weight design and we’re using integrated ball joints with a forged housing. That helps cut down on the packaging size and the weight of the arm.”
He continued, “We’re also using a stamped steel center portion in the center of the arm instead of the formed basket we had in the older ones. That also gives it a nicer appearance and a lighter weight. These are all robotically welded GM A-body, F-body, G-body, etc., using poly bushings and low friction depending on the series of arms. They also incorporate a billet-aluminum cross-shaft, which also shaves pounds and reduces the risk of binding.”
