It was way back in 1982, when Buick set the automotive world on its collective ear. It was the ‘80s, and no one was building a true performance car. Sure, some cars had a sticker package to make them look cool, but not much under the hood. But, Buick announced a performance car that actually delivered performance – the Grand National. The original production run was to deliver 100 units, but Cars and Concepts of Brighton, Michigan, retrofitted 215 Regals with the Grand National package.

Although the popularity of these cars with three-quarters of a V8 was immediate and continuous, parts availability was not. That is, until now. Original Parts Group Inc. (OPGI) is now supporting Grand National enthusiasts with the introduction of several new parts. One of the fist exterior items that usually take the brunt of a hard life is exterior badging – the weather can take its toll, but OPGI has the remedy with new badges.

“We cover everything from the A-body line of Chevrolet, Buick, Olds, and now we’ve added the ‘80s Buick Grand National, Regal and Monte Carlo,” said Colin Date. We also heard that some interior parts like dash pads are available, and that is truly a welcomed release.

So, it doesn’t matter which General Motors car you might be working on, be it a Chevelle, El Camino, Skylark, or even Cadillac, Original Parts Group probably has the restoration parts you need. And now, even if that project is a Grand National, they have you covered.
