American Racing Headers Equips 2011 Mustang and Drag Pak Challenger

When a OEM comes to you to build headers for their new limited edition race car, lets you know how good the company can be.  The companies we are talking about include Mopar and American Racing Headers.  Mopar chose American Racing headers for the new 2011 V10-equipped 8.4-liter (512-cid) V10 engine with a 2-speed automatic transmission, because they new the quality was there.   The V10 headers are a 5 to 1 design with merge collector that feature 1-7/8ths to 2-inch stepped runners…and are made from 304 stainless steel.  American Racing Headers state that the stepped header design help create a broader torque curve without sacrificing horsepower.

Also new from American Racing is their 2011 Mustang 5.0 headers.  These headers are also made from 304 stainless steel and feature 1-7/8ths primaries.  The collector is 3-inch in diameter and it can be fitted with a 3-inch or 2.5 inch X-pipe.  The stainless X-pipes come in both catted and non-catted versions.  American Racing headers says the new 5.0 headers are similar to the 4.6-liter counterparts, though the new headers have to have extremely precise bends to ensure that they won’t rub.
