Weld Racing recently announced their partnering with legendary automotive performance outfitter Shelby American. Weld has developed and will be supplying an exclusive wheel design to the legendary company. “Shelby came to us and was demanding a made in the USA product, that was entirely forged, and optimized, and can support and accentuate the performance of the Shelby Mustang,” says Weld Racing Marketing VP, Chris Bovis.

This lead to the creation by Weld of the Shelby Venice wheel. Bovis says this is a private label product being sold exclusively through Shelby American. Weld Racing announced the partnership with Shelby American last week however, this is the first time they’ve been seen live. The wheels of course feature all the same benefits and manufacturing characteristics that enthusiasts have come to expect from Weld. The Venice wheels are designed and optimized to fit all 2005-2014 S197 Mustangs.

This super rare, 1 of 1 2014 Shelby Super Snake was featured in the Weld Racing booth at the seam show, wearing the new wheels that Weld will provide to Shelby American. The car was built specifically for Weld Racing to demonstrate the wheels. 850 hp is at the command of the driver’s right foot thanks to an enhanced Trinity 5.8 that includes a massive Whipple 4.3 liter blower.

Aside from the insane power of the Super Snake, this very special car features unique Weld Racing graphics. It all features unique carbon fiber upgrades, “All of the carbon fiber pieces are brand new and were designed specifically for this car,” says Bovis. This includes the hood, carbon fiber splitter, grille cover and more. The carbon fiber hood is actually a preproduction version of a part that Shelby American will soon offer in their catalog. The Venice wheels are 20×9.5-inches front and 20×10.5-inches rear. They fit all S197 Mustangs from 2005-2014.
