SEMA 2020: New C10 Chassis From Art Morrison Enterprises

C10 Chassis

Adding suspension upgrades are a great way to improve how your classic handles. Let’s face it, we all want a great car that is fun to drive. But, if you need the ultimate in great handling, maybe a complete suspension is in your near future. If so, it’s a good thing that Art Morrison Enterprises (AME) has added the 1967 through ‘72 Chevy C10 pickup to its ever-growing roster of vehicles that can benefit from a bolt-in GT Sport chassis.

To make this new chassis, AME’s engineering team employed 3D digital scanning technology to ensure a perfect fit and other computer applications to develop an integrated chassis package that improves handling, ride, and stance.

The chassis is made with rigid 2x 6, .180-inch-thick-wall main frame rails, and it employs FEA-optimized braces to ensure a stiff platform. Another great feature this chassis features are 3-inch passageways to route the exhaust. It is designed to provide 5 to 6 inches of ground clearance with nothing protruding below. What’s more, the bottom of the oil pan is flush with the frame.

AME’s GT Sport chassis for the C10 comes with a 9-inch rearend with a triangulated four-bar suspension and coilover shocks. It can also be ordered with a multi-link I.R.S. or an air spring suspension. Upfront are Wilwood forged-aluminum spindles, TIG-welded tubular-steel control arms, and an adjustable sway bar. A new steering rack with a billet-aluminum steering arm provides near-zero bump steer and no slop. A 62.5-inch front tread width facilitates the proper scrub geometry while allowing the use of dished wheels.
