SEMA 2024: Billet Specialties’ New LT4 Supercharger Lid

Billet Specialties Inc. has just released a new supercharger lid and showcased it at the SEMA 2024 event. Their new supercharger lid is designed to bring a performance improvement to GM’s supercharged LT4 engines. While it looks great, it’s not just cosmetic; it’s also an engineered solution based on the company’s previous experience with LT4 accessory drives.

Not every customer wanted to give their engine a Corvette-badged lid, so Billet Specialties designed a more versatile lid. The company went a step further and gathered input that allowed them to tweak the internal design so as to be able to accommodate both the short, as well as the tall intercooler bricks while maintaining compatibility for both Gen-1 and Gen-2 LT4 superchargers.

Billet Specialties Inc. has just released a new supercharger lid and showcased it at the SEMA 2024 event. Their new supercharger lid is designed to be an improvement over performance for LT4 engines. It's not necessarily cosmetic; it's more of an engineered solution based on the company's previous experience with LT4 accessory drives. Not every customer wanted to give their engine a Corvette-badged lid, so Billet Specialties understood what needed to be done. They designed a more versatile model instead and gathered some advice from someone who worked with GM to tweak the internal design so as to be able to accommodate the short as well as the tall intercooler bricks while maintaining the compatibility for both Gen 1 and Gen 2 LT4 superchargers. One of the interesting features of this new lid is the design on the bottom. This will enhance airflow over the intercooler bricks so that temperatures will be more consistent throughout all cylinders. Dyno testing revealed a noticeable gain of 8 HP at the wheels from improved cooling. The lid itself is solid proof of Billet Specialties' enthusiasm for quality. With precision machining, they chose 6061-T6 billet aluminum in a piece that speaks of strength, workability, and corrosion resistance. These are all prime attributes for this application. It gets hard coat anodized to provide a durable finish that's resistant to UV, protecting the aluminum underneath but also enhancing its look. Billet Specialties did not end there. They also placed high-quality ARP stainless steel 12-point fasteners. Known for their strength, ARP fasteners are a staple in high-performance applications. A 12-point design of the fastener ensures a good grip and makes them look fashionable. Billet Specialties knows that different people have unique tastes in the aesthetics of their engines. That is why they decided to design the lid in two finishes. Standard hard-coat anodized or raw machined finish. This way, customers can customize their cars since they can either polish the raw version or get their preferred finish for the engine bay. The new LT4 supercharger lid features remarkable performance enhancement capabilities, high-quality materials, and customizability, making it a very desirable upgrade option for the LT4 engine.
