TMI Products has introduced an all-new interior for the 1986 and 1987 Monte Carlo G-body cars. Ross Berlinger, the company’s representative, provided details regarding this new release — part of TMI Products full line of interior offerings.
One of the highlights of the new G-body interior is the Trans Am seats. With a more compact design than the traditional low-back seats, this model features a one-inch bolster made with molded foam. The seats install seamlessly into the Monte Carlo.
When looking at other elements of the interior, TMI’s attention to detail is evident. For example, the molded fiberglass door panels are created to replace aging factory panels that often show significant wear over time. The new panels come wrapped in the company’s premium distress Blue Steel vinyl, chosen for its flexibility and the modern aesthetic it brings to the Monte Carlo’s interior.
Berlinger also cited the unique dash pad for the G-body interior, made of molded fiberglass with matching vinyl in what appears to be black contrast stitching. A two-piece design ensures a seamless installation, staying flush with the existing dashboard of the car. There are also new carpet kits. This includes a high-end German square weave in a salt-and-pepper pattern, bringing a touch of luxury that is true to the era.
The center console can be customized. The top plate is moveable, and fits various transmission types. This feature is for car enthusiasts who want to achieve a personal touch without sacrificing authenticity.
Other features include matching rear seat upholstery and a molded headliner. For more information on the new interior kit, visit tmiproducts.com.
