Xceleration Media is a company made up of car people. Since most of the team members have their own personal project cars, we decided that it’s time to open up about our personal experiences for the readers to follow. These project features will be less structured than the ‘typical’ features, but they will also bring something new to the table that we know a lot of you will be able to relate to.
For Power & Performance News, we’re going to be introducing two very different vehicles to kick this off.
The first car we’re introducing is our Director Shawn Brererton’s Chevy, Project 1PDQ55. Shawn’s blown 1955 Chevy raises the bar for both beauty and performance. This car is sleek and cool, but don’t let its show car good looks fool you, it’s nothing to mess with on the street or track! Shawn’s ’55 has recently grabbed the attention of followers of the XM social media networks as they watched it go through its latest round of mods.
Every time we post about this car, we get fan mail demanding to see more! While it will be the subject of some highly technical write-ups for our magazine, you can also follow it as a project car to learn more about the history of the car, and follow future modifications. Look for the full introduction of Project 1PD55Q this week!
The second car is owned by the Digital Editor of our street titles, Elizabeth Puckett, and we’re calling it Project Vendetta. Elizabeth’s 1998 Formula is a former track car and LS1 bolt-on superstar, turned heads/cam street car. After sacrificing too much streetability for track performance, Elizabeth saw the transmission tearing apart as a sign to change gears, literally. The car began life as an automatic, and now a six-speed T-56 backs the build, and making that change has sent the car down a different path.
Handling and appearance will be the main changes coming up that we’ll be covering in-depth, but also stay tuned for a lot of flashback projects with galleries of install photos. The full introduction on Project Vendetta will be posted in a few days as Elizabeth has a new camera and is working on getting updated photos of Vendetta in her current form.
Please let us know what you’d like to see from these projects, or questions you have — drop a comment under the posts, or on our Facebook page. Also, expect to see some Q&A sessions with the builders from time-to-time, so stay tuned, this is going to be fun!
