Valentine’s Day was not a good day for Vernon Pugh of Daphne, Alabama. Pugh arrived back at his home after being away for approximately 10-hours to find his enclosed trailer missing along with his 1932 Chevrolet. According to NBC Local 15, the vintage Chevrolet was stored inside of the enclosed trailer. Pugh suspects that the thief or thieves were after the trailer, because the car was rarely ever outside.

Unfortunately, it has been over a month since the theft took place and there have been no leads in this case. Pugh fears that his customized Chevy has been sent to a chop shop because it has not been found yet. Daphne police officers have been monitoring multiple websites just in case any part of the vehicle ends up listed for sale. With vintage vehicles it is all too easy for thieves to strip them and make a quick profit.

Despite the lack of suspects or leads, Pugh holds out hope that perhaps his car will be recovered. He told NBC Local channel 15, that he suspects it might have been construction workers that are working on a new development near his home.

Pugh stated that perhaps the suspects were just looking for the customized enclosed trailer, but are now trying to figure out what to do with the car. Without witnesses to the crime or even surveillance footage, Pugh and police officers are depending on the public for any information. If anyone has any information on the trailer or the ’32 Chevrolet, Pugh hopes that they will contact the Daphne Police Department.
