When it comes to the culmination of all things GM, there was no better place to see it all than the 2024 Carlisle GM Nationals. Carlisle Events is celebrating 50 years of automotive fun, and this year’s GM-based event started the celebration right with its Top-10 all-time turnout on the first weekend of Summer (June 21-22, 2024).
GM enthusiasts from around the globe flocked to the Carlisle, Pennsylvania fairgrounds that were wall-to-wall, all-GM during the weekend’s event. For more than two decades, the Carlisle GM Nationals has been a fan favorite for hardcore Bowtie enthusiasts, as well as all other General Motors faithful.
The event offers something for everyone, from the National Parts Depot show field, where over 1,000 GM vehicles shimmered in the mid-day sun. There was also the automotive swap meet, where aisles of parts and tarps laid out “previously loved” components ready to be used once again. Plenty of upgrades from OEM were available in the Manufacturer’s Midway area as well.
The Solid Lifter Showroom in Building T gave enthusiasts a chance to see every color of Yenko Camaro and Chevelle ever created and a few prototypes. The 2024 Carlisle GM Nationals offered the biggest SLS ever, with 50 cars on display. There were plenty of sights and sounds during the event, and there were pop-up parades around the grounds, including one with the 3rd Gen Camaros and Firebirds. Bruce Larson returned to Carlisle too, showcasing his sensory overload-inducing Nitrofest on six different occasions.
Several “shows within the show” are always popular and this year was no different. The 3rd Generation Camaro and Firebird Nationals continue to grow, as does the Novas at Carlisle event. There was also the Corvettes for Chip event, focusing on Chevrolet’s halo car.
The Carlisle GM Nationals will return for 2025, on June 20-21 featuring displays dedicated to 75 Years of the Tri-Fives including the Bel Air, 55 Years of the Monte Carlo, and the IROC Camaros.
