The sun was shining, the sky was blue, and the Rod Authority crew was on hand covering the 26th Annual Goodguys West Coast Nationals this August in Pleasanton, California. The vintage cars and trucks were out in massive droves and if you throw in some restored muscle cars, a dash of high horsepower street cars, and add a sprinkling of impressive imports and this gives you the recipe for this year’s West Coast Nats. The folks at TCI Engineering were also out in force and captured a few of the rods on hand that we weren’t able to see and they were kind enough to share their photos with us.

With beautiful weather and a clear sky, each and every one of the three thousand vehicles on display looked simply stunning. The judges had no easy task when it came looking for the next car or truck to win the highly sought-after title.
Everyone brought their flawless hot rods and cool classics dressed to the nines in full show condition. Even Tom Medley was able to catch the show with his recently restored 1940 Ford Coupe to celebrate the theme of 40’s Fords Forever!
Some of the finalists for America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod included David Rios’ 1940 Ford, Brent Schneiders’ 1937 Ford Cabriolet, and Mike Holmes’ 1939 Ford Ute.

This year the trophy and title of America’s Most Beautiful Street Rod went to Garry and Diana Crawford and their stunning 1940 Chevrolet Coupe. Of course, this isn’t your grandma’s 1940 Coupe and the exhaustive list of mods that have been done to the coupe include ’46 Ford rear bumpers, ’39 Chevy taillights, a fully custom leather interior and a potent 480 horsepower LS3.
For his big win, Garry and Diana will receive travel accommodations to the 15th annual Southwest Nationals in Scotttsdale, Arizona and the coupe will proudly be displayed in the “Champions Arena” along with other regional winners.
