2015 is a year away but the guys at Scott’s Hot Rods and Customs have been busting their humps to complete what they say will be the nicest Goodguys Grand Prize Giveaway vehicle to date; a completely customized 1970 Chevrolet C-10 designed by Eric Black.

Mods to this truck include Scott’s house brand 100% tig welded tube chassis, IFS, tubular suspension, Wilwood brakes all around, coil-overs, stainless fluid lines, Scott’s Watts link, Moser 9” rear, Lingenfelter LS3 motor with EFI, TCI transmission, custom stainless exhaust. Several body modifications are necessary in order to tuck the massive 20” Billet Specialties rollers and get it sitting just 4-1/2 inches from the ground. Of course flawless paint and bodywork will be the metallic cherry on top.

With that in mind Scott’s team started tearing down the C-10 to the metal. Underlying rust was discovered so the metal was repaired and a new sleeker top window channel was fabricated. Other tasteful body modifications include a recessed grill & headlights, side exhaust, raised bumpers, massaged drip rails, and scalloped side trim. Finishing off the body work will be a modern rendition of 1960’s Lindale Blue supplied by PPG. Ron Mangus will be in charge of interior treatment with a signature one-off orange and red two-tone blend with other neutral colors.

The truck is scheduled to debut at the Goodguys 17th PPG Nationals in Columbus, OH on July 11-13, 2014. It will be given away the following year at the 18th PPG Nationals in July of 2015.

According to the Goodguys website there will be two ways to win. You can qualify as an event participant through the Goodguys Sunday Lucky Ticket program or become a member of Goodguys.
