We’ve all daydreamed about the day that we find an unmolested car sitting in a little old lady’s garage, just waiting for the right person to come along and find it. Well, Rick in Canada is that guy. He said, “I recently came across this Mustang. The young man had taken possession of the vehicle as it was a part of his father’s estate. The vehicle had sat in a dilapidated garage since 1995. The car wasn’t something that I was specifically looking for, but a friend and I agreed that it would be unfair to let that car remain in that state for any longer, and I purchased it. The car was sitting in a small garage in an alleyway in downtown Toronto. Suffice it to say, she’s safe and cozy in a warm garage down the street and awaits a restoration.”
When the car was rescued, it was covered in an inch of dirt and grime, had flat tires, and just generally looked to be in rough shape. It’s amazing what a good wash and detail will do and after further inspection the car appears to be in much better shape than we initially thought. While the car is certainly not perfect, it didn’t deserve to sit untouched with all of that dirt covering it, and it’s nice to see how well it cleaned up. Finding a Mustang of this vintage in decent condition is getting more difficult by the day, as the cars are approaching fifty years old. So to see this one end up in the hands of someone who will be able to bring it back to its former glory is nice. Congratulations on your find, Rick!
