While there isn’t a flock of geese in the BBK Performance booth at SEMA, there is a bunch of hot parts for the 2011 Mustang…even for V6s! It seems like the aftermarket forgot there was a new 300HP V6 that came out at the same time as the new 5.0 and the parts support wasn’t there.
Due to the factory V6 exhaust manifold design, BBK will not offer a CARB legal header for it, rather a full long tube version that will come with 1 5/8ths primaries to a 3-inch collector. There is also an option for catted or non-catted X-Pipes. The throttle body is a direct replacement, 70mm piece that will bolt-on in a matter of minutes. Last up for the V6 is BBK’s cold air intake kit that comes with a pre-formed heatshield to keep the engine heat away from the filter.
But you just cannot forget about the ol’ 5-liter Mustang parts. BBK has two sets of headers for the 5.0 that are offered in 1 3/4-inch primaries. The first set is the CARB-pending, tuned-length shorties and then a set of full length headers. Like the V6 counterparts, there is an option for catted or non-catted X-Pipes. A cold air intake accompanies the parts line up, though BBK has paid special attention to the design of this intake in particular. A velocity stack-type insert fits between the intake tube and filter. This stack they have dyno tested in a variety of locations to help draw the air in a matter that the 5.0 likes the most…and gained the most horsepower with. Rounding out the parts is a direct-fit 85m throttle body, in which BBK claims a 20 RWHP gain from.
