The old saying, “Everything is bigger in Texas,” appears to still ring true. Hennessey Performance has announced the production of its H1000 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing model. The Sealy, Texas, based car manufacturer and high-performance shop is world-renowned for producing some of the fastest vehicles on Earth. Hennessey’s approach of “making fast cars faster” has been behind the company’s successes for over 32 years. Transforming high-performance factory cars like the Chevrolet Camaro, Corvette, and Ford Mustang into street-driven monsters has been Hennessey’s bread-and-butter. In recent years, it has applied its expertise to a wider variety of vehicles like the Cadillac Escalade, Ford Raptor, Bronco, and Ram TRX. So, it only makes sense to build upon the Cadillac high-performance sedan.
To start, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the brand’s most powerful production car ever. Powered by the supercharged 6.2-liter LT4 engine, it is rated at 668 horsepower and 659 lb-ft of torque. This level of power will propel the rear-wheel drive luxury sedan to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. The 10-speed automatic and optional 6-speed manual transmissions can push the car to a factory top speed of 205 mph.
Cadillac’s CT5-V Blackwing, fitted with GM’s supercharged LT4, was a natural candidate for our EXORCIST upgrade…” – John Hennessey, founder and CEO of Hennessey Performance
For those wanting more, Hennessey Performance is happy to oblige. The team at Hennessey begins by replacing the factory LT4 cylinder heads with a pair of ported heads that have upgraded intake and exhaust valves, lifters, and pushrods. Next, the H1000 receives a new high-flow Hennessey supercharger and oversized heat exchangers. The final components added to the package are long-tube stainless steel headers and Hennessey’s proprietary Engine Management Calibration (HEMC).

The results push the Hennessey H1000 CT5-V Blackwing into supercar power level territory. With a dyno-proven 1,000 horsepower and 966 lb-ft of torque on hand, the H1000 hits 60 mph a full second quicker than the factory CT5-V Blackwing and goes through the traps of the quarter-mile in just 10.1 seconds. To be able to drive this four-door luxury sedan to a drag strip and almost run 9s in the quarter mile at a curb weight of over 4,000 pounds is amazing.

The beauty of the Hennessey H1000 package is that its power upgrades have no negative effects on drivability and are a complement to Cadillac’s performance enhancements, including Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brake package, and user-configurable driving modes. Additionally, there is an integrated data recorder to log performance both on- and off-track. Speaking on the results of the Hennessey CT5-V Blackwing, John Hennessey said, “Resurrected as the H1000, the four-door Cadillac is the fastest combustion-only luxury on the planet. It is a rare high-water mark in a segment that will vanish by the decade’s end.”
The Hennessey H1000 is currently available to order with worldwide shipping through authorized Cadillac dealers and directly from Hennessey Performance. The Cadillac includes a comprehensive 2-year / 24,000-mile limited warranty. It should be noted the H1000 upgrade package only applies to the flagship Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing and not the standard V6-equipped CT5-V.
