Cadillac V-Series: GM’s Last LT4 Powered Car Is Better Than Ever

The world of new muscle cars might be facing an existential crisis, but Cadillac isn’t playing along. The 2025 CT5 V-Series is a roaring testament to that, returning with its 668 horsepower supercharged LT4 V8 intact, and throwing in some exciting upgrades for good measure.

Sharper Looks, Same Thrilling Performance

Forget minor tweaks; the CT5 V-Series gets a full-blown face-lift for 2025. All CT5s sport sleeker, more aggressive front ends, with one-piece vertical LED running lights and stacked LED projectors replacing the previous design. This sharper look better updates the car’s sporty personality, and the CT5-V Blackwing gets an extra dose of aggression with its larger lower grille and air inlets.

Don’t worry though, all this sculpting hasn’t compromised performance. Cadillac assures us the Blackwing’s aerodynamics and cooling remain top-notch, ensuring its 668 horses can still propel it past 200 mph. The six-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmissions are back for the Blackwing, while the regular CT5-V keeps its 360 horsepower V6 and 10-speed auto combo, available with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Tech To Go Along With Big Horsepower

Inside, the CT5 V-Series gets a major tech upgrade with a new 33-inch curved 9K LED display. This Android Automotive-powered behemoth houses all the bells and whistles you’d expect, including Google Maps, the Play Store, Assistant, and Alexa. But its true potential lies in the revamped performance app.

This app takes full advantage of the expansive screen, offering two customizable data display options: circular gauges or a real-time strip chart. And for those who like to analyze their drives in detail, there’s a handy pause button to freeze live data whenever something interesting happens.

Data Overload for Track Rats

The optional Performance Data Recorder (PDR) gets a serious update too, now recording 34 data points instead of the previous 18. This includes brake and throttle inputs overlaid on a GPS track map, perfect for slicing seconds off your lap times. You can even analyze the data right in the car without stepping out, thanks to the new in-car analysis feature.

And for the hardcore track enthusiasts, the Cosworth Toolbox analysis software is still there, letting you delve even deeper into your driving data like a true Cadillac Le Mans engineer.

When Can You Get Your Hands on One?

Production for the 2025 CT5 V-Series starts this summer, but pricing is still under wraps. Expect the Blackwing to remain a limited-production beast, available only at select dealerships. The CT5-V, with its slightly lower price tag (around $54,000), might be the more attainable option for the street.

One thing’s for sure: the 2025 Cadillac CT5 V-Series is a clear message that American muscle is alive and kicking. With its refreshed looks, upgraded tech, and blistering performance, it’s a force to be reckoned with on both the autobahn and slalom course.

So, if you’re looking for a car that punches above its weight class and delivers pure driving exhilaration, skip the German car store and get the best factory V8 sedan you can buy at your local Caddy dealership. Besides, we muscle car guys look ridiculous in silk ascots and tasseled loafers.
