When Carlisle Events announced the rebranding of the Carlisle GM Nationals to the Chevrolet Nationals, The Carlisle group began a crusade to make the weekend bigger and better than it’s ever been. Adding to the festivities, Carlisle just announced that the National Nostalgic Nova Club and their tremendously popular national Nova meet will be part of the event. This year, Novas at Carlisle becomes part of the show field, starting June 23, 2017. That means guests can see hundreds of some of the finest muscle ever produced by the Chevrolet brand.
In the past, the National Nostalgic Nova Club held its national meet at various locations, but this year, it will be a “show within a show” at Carlisle. Because of this new musclecar-show melding, Nova classes have been expanded for 2017, and club members and Carlisle staff alike are working on recruiting some especially nice, rare, and unique cars to display under the north portion of the onsite pavilion.
All Novas will be parked together in the blue show field beside Building Y, and along one of the main avenues of the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Registration for Nova classes is the same as it has been in years past, and is now open at www.CarlisleEvents.com. Best of all, there are even more Nova classes to choose from! All cars are also still eligible for the same awards as in previous years.
On top of the special display cars, Novas at Carlisle will also feature several seminars geared towards Nova tech and history. A special highlight for 2017 will be a nod towards 50 years of the 1967 Nova. This is a great new feature for fans of Chevy’s cool compact, so be sure to come out and join in the fun in June!
Along with the Nova showcase, the Chevrolet Nationals will feature a 50th anniversary celebration of the Camaro and Firebird, and the GM Musclecar Showdown, spotlighting some of the best Chevrolet, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, and Buick rides to roll off the assembly line. You can also check out the Solid Lifter Showroom, which houses a unique showcase of top-notch supercars such as Yenko and COPO cars. If you’re a fan of Pace Cars, a display dedicated to them will be open to any pace vehicle themed to any track.
Finally, to make your weekend experience as exciting as possible, you can check out the autocross, onsite installs, vendors, and so much more. Carlisle Events also wants to make sure that along with the Nova Club, all enthusiasts of Chevy, Buick, Olds, Pontiac, and Cadillac themed car clubs are invited to attend. These clubs should consider Carlisle as the place to meet with other club members, many times under a free tent as part of the Club Tent Program, all while being immersed in a sea of automotive excellence.
