The folks over at Cherry Bomb Performance Exhaust have been hard at it preparing their Disturbing the Peace ’68 Camaro project car to be debuted at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas in a couple of weeks. This wild resto-rod will be motivated by a modern LSX 454 topped with an 8-71 BDS supercharger, along with a BDS intercooler setup, electronic fuel injection, aftermarket EFI and coil pack controllers, a custom accessory drive system, and a host of other high performances goodies sure to make this ride a looker and a performer to boot.
If you’ve been following along with our coverage of the buildup of Cherry Bomb’s ride on StreetMuscleMag, you’ve had a chance to see the body as it left the paint shop, covered in Cherry Bomb red over flat black with gloss stripes, the trail-fitting of the blown LSX powerplant, and the fabrication of the trick side-exit exhaust system. With the body completed and back on the ground in a rolling state following the installation of all the new suspension components, it was time to drop the engine under the hood.
The guys at Cherry Bomb, who are working in conjunction with YearOne on this project, filmed a very cool timelapse video of the process. In it, you can see entire process of the installation, from the engine sitting on a wooden crate, to it being hooked up to a rather massive hoist, the headers being test fitted and removed, and finally dropped into the motor mounts of Disturbing The Peace. Once in, the car is raised on the lift and the rest of the drivetrain is lifted into place and the remainder of the exhaust system bolted up. Enjoy this unique look at this wickedly cool project car that, like you, we can’t wait to see finished up at SEMA in a few weeks.
