Update: The Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals Are Almost Here. Get Ready

In case you forgot, the Carlisle Chevrolet Nationals are getting close! This year, the car show gurus in Pennsylvania are ready to put on an event to remember. Make sure you join in the fun. The Chevrolet Nationals first launched in 2001, and since then, the event has long embraced all things General Motors. This includes marques like Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Hummer, Saturn, and more. Each year, the event draws more than 100 years of history and puts it on display for all to see. The event recently welcomed Team Chevrolet to the mix, beginning in 2017. For 2019, they’ll be back, as will two brand-new features, which give guests even more bang for their buck.

Now is definitely the time to make plans for a great show, because time is running out for you to take advantage of the preregistration deal that gets you a 10-percent discount. The Gate-N-Go promotion has a deadline of Monday, May 20, so sign up now to avoid a wait in line and lose time that you could be spending on grounds enjoying the event?

When you register via the Gate-N-Go program, the folks at Carlisle Events will send you all applicable paperwork in advance. That way, you can have your window sticker on the car beforehand and drive right onto the grounds and immediately begin having a great time.

Even if you miss the 10-percent savings and Gate-N-Go deadline, you can still preregister. Preregistration remains available until show week. When you preregister, you cruise up to the Show Field Registration office, bypass one line, pick up your packet and return to your car. Place the registration on your window and you and your guest can cruise onsite with minimal delay.

Some of the features of this year’s event include:

High-Flying Bandit

As a tribute to Smokey and the Bandit, a Bandit Trans Am will fly through the air at the Chevrolet Nationals. Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. the wheels will leave the ground and your heart will race as you get to witness this spectacle first hand! The crew at Northeast Ohio Dukes will be east bound and down with a Pontiac Trans Am to jump part of the fairgrounds. As Burt Reynolds would say, “it ain’t never been done before” and it’s never been done here at the Carlisle Fairgrounds.

The First Lady Of Motorsports

This year, the Chevrolet Nationals weekend will feature a Hurst-specific display. The Hurst showcase will spotlight some of the best Hurst vehicles in the region. In addition, there will be some Hurst-themed memorabilia, and efforts are being made to entice Hurst engineers who have attended in years past to attend the 2019 event. There will also be Hurst-centric seminars planned throughout the event weekend as well.

If you remember anything about Hurst shifters, you know the name Linda Vaughn. Miss Hurst Golden Shifter will be at the Chevrolet Nationals as part of the Hurst Showcase. Ms. Vaughn will be available throughout the weekend to meet fans, sign autographs, and talk about her unique career in the automotive and motorsports world, Friday and Saturday, June 21 and 22.

Going, Going, Gone!

There’s so much to see and do during the Chevrolet Nationals weekend that Carlisle Events has two locations to host it all. A terrific addition to this year’s Chevrolet Nationals is the Carlisle Auctions Summer Sale. Originally held as a stand-alone event in 2018, the Carlisle Auctions team brings its fast-paced brand of excitement to the Chevrolet weekend.

If you’re looking to buy a youth-inspiring hot rod, the auction will be the place for you.

This one-day event will feature over 200-plus classic and collector cars for sale, including two brand-specific power hours. These hours will include one dedicated to trucks, with another focused on the General Motors family of vehicles. The auction will be held on Saturday, June 22 at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center, and offers a free shuttle to move guests between the two facilities. Spectator admission is free.

Summer Of Cool

The 1969 car models were the epitome of factory hot rodding, and General Motors offered everything from the Camaro RS/SS to the Pontiac Firebird, and the GTO Judge, Chevrolet Chevelle and Olds 442, to the Buick GSX. It was a stellar year for awesome cars from GM.

This year, the folks at Carlisle want their yearly party to reflect the excitement of 1969. That party will celebrate the 50th birthday of those cars! Once again, the Building T showcase will feature the cars built during this banner year, and you can continuously get updates by checking the Chevy Nationals website. Apply today for your spot inside the building, or simply register your car for the show field using the links below! You can even apply today for consideration to have your car feature in the invitational display.

The Elco Gets Some Respect

Join the festivities at Carlisle as they celebrate Chevrolet’s famous coupe utility vehicle. It all started in 1959, when the Chevrolet division started producing an all new two-door station-wagon-based pickup truck. The integrated cab and cargo bed was brought about as a response to Ford’s Ranchero. The El Camino had a long run, and the first-generation spanned from 1959 to 1960, using the B-body platform. Then, after a three-year hiatus, returned in 1964, and was based on the A-body platform until 1981. El Camino production ended in 1987, and at that point, was using the popular G-body platform.

At the 2019 Chevrolet Nationals the Carlisle crew wants to deliver a great display of El Caminos of all generations. The utility hauler will be part of the featured display inside Building T, and will also be featured near the stage. More details will come as we get closer to the event, and we can’t wait to see you here! Apply today for invitational consideration or register for the event by clicking here.

Blazer Bash

From the family-sized K5 Blazer to the smaller S-10 Blazer, this year’s Chevrolet Nationals will celebrate the 50th birthday of the Chevrolet’s popular off-road family hauler. Enthusiasts can see everything Blazer related, old to new, custom to stock and everything in between. Join the excitement as they showcase the heritage. At the Chevrolet Nationals in 2019 the Carlisle crew want to deliver a great display of Blazers of all generations.

Nova Overload

The National Nostalgic Nova Club will hold a special meet within the Chevrolet Nationals show field. The annual Novas at Carlisle “show within a show” is held throughout the event weekend. All fans of the Nova — regardless of club affiliation — are welcome to be part of this huge Nova show field. Nova classes have a designated highlighted area, and attendees are welcome to join in all the fun under the North portion of our pavilion. All Novas will be parked in the blue show field, right between the midway and the pavilion near one of the main avenues of the fairgrounds.

Along with the special display cars, Novas at Carlisle will also feature several seminars geared towards Nova tech and history. The seminars are open to all attendees of the Chevrolet Nationals, and will take place in the North part of the pavilion.

An event of this magnitude is one that you really need to make plans to attend. The Chevrolet Nationals is so much more than just a car show, and you’ll be glad you made the trek.
