The Pacific Street Car Association this week announced the dates for the ninth edition of the Street Car Super Nationals, one of drag racing’s premier, must-see heads-up events, that will once again be held at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the weekend of November 14-17, 2013.
The eighth running of the Street Car Super Nationals raised the bar considerably for all future editions of the hugely popular doorslammer event, thanks to a barrage on the doorslammer record books and the quickest pass in the history of doorslammer racing when Jose Gonzalez clicked off a stunning 5.730-second lap.
“It’s going to be hard to top what we saw at this year’s race,” said PSCA President Mel Roth. “Between Gonzalez making the quickest pass in history to Troy Coughlin shocking the world and adding the Pro Street title to his resume after earning the NHRA Pro Mod title, as well as just an amazing weekend of drag racing, we’ve got our work cut out for us.
“The fans are expecting more out of us every year and our racers have every intention of taking their cars to the very edge to give those fans their money’s worth. It’s our job at PSCA to make sure the bar keeps being raised. It’s not easy, but when you combine the best drivers with the best fans and a group of sponsors who are dedicated to this event, I don’t see how we can go wrong.”
The Street Car Super Nationals feature competition in Pro Street, Outlaw 10.5, Xtreme Drag Radial/True 10.5, Wild Street, Hot Street, Outlaw 8.5, and a host of bracket and index categories.
The PSCA will be releasing the full schedule for its 14th season of racing in the coming weeks.
