Death Week, Sick Week ’24 To Test Drag-And-Drive Competitors

Sick the Magazine recently released its 2024 Sick Week schedule, but not before announcing another event, Death Week, which puts competitors and their machines to the ultimate test in the blazing sun of the southwest toward the end of 2023.

“You think you hate it now, wait ’til you race it. This is no vacation,” posted Sick the Magazine of Death Week, the event that brings drag-and-drive competition to the hottest parts of the United States for an ultra-marathon.

Noted as a one-off event, Death Week will include over 2,000 miles of driving and four days of 1/8-mile drag racing at three different racetracks. The schedule is as follows:

Friday, October 20 – Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park tech and testing
Saturday, October 21 – Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (race day one, morning)
Sunday, October 22 – Barona Drags (race day two, afternoon)
Monday, October 23 – Drive day San Diego to Santa Barbara
Tuesday, October 24 – Drive day Santa Barbara to Fresno
Wednesday, October 25 – Santa Barbara to Sequoia Forest to Famoso Dragway (race day three, afternoon)
Thursday, October 26 – Bakersfield to Las Vegas via Death Valley
Friday, October 27 – Las Vegas party day
October 28 – Las Vegas to Phoenix via Grand Canyon
October 29 – Wild Horse Pass Motorsports Park (race day four, morning)

Death Week, meanwhile, is sure to test man and machine and set records for distance traveled in drag-and-drive events, not to mention be a scenic trip for those who can make the journey. In addition to the various drag strip destinations, attendees will visit The Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, Sequoia National Park and of course Death Valley just to name a few places.

Sick the Magazine also released the Sick Week 2024 event schedule and it’s five days of drag-and-drive madness. This event will mark the third year for the Southeast drag-and-drive competition, and it kicks off once again in Bithlo, Florida, at Orlando Speed World Dragway. The schedule is as follows:

January 28 – Orlando Speed World, tech and testing
January 29 – Orlando Speed World, day one
January 30 – Bradenton Motorsports Park, day two
January 31 – Gainesville Raceway, day three
February 1 – South Georgia Motorsports Park, day four
