Detroit Speed and Engineering had a strong showing this year at the 2013 Optima Ultimate Streetcar Invitational in Pahrump, NV. If you’re not familiar with the OUSCI, this event brings out some of the best cars and drivers in the world to compete in a series of challenges from a road course to a start and stop challenge.
Kyle and Stacy Tucker, the owners of DSE, also compete in their own cars at OUSCI. This year they brought out two of their test cars, a 2012 Camaro nicknamed “White Monster” and their classic 1969 Camaro. These cars are some of the best in the business and always perform well. In past years DSE has had a strong showing at the OUSCI shoot-out, with many rides sporting their DSE suspension. Most notably is Mark Stielow’s 1967 “Mayhem” Camaro which won over all at OUSCI 2012.
In the White Monster, Kyle was able to finish seventh place overall of a field with over fifty cars. Tucker’s best event was a second place finish in the Hot Lap Challenge. Brian Hobaugh swept the field and finished first place overall, just pushing out Mark Stielow in his Mayhem Camaro.
The other impressive part is that Kyle has even more talent than driving on the track. From the OUSCI he headed south of the border to compete in the Baja 1000. A man of many talents!
