If you’ve priced just about any cars from the muscle car era lately, you’ll find that they’re selling for quite a bit more than they did when new. That’s because they are still a red-hot commodity and are quite desirable. Dream Giveaway is offering one lucky individual a way to bypass the entire purchase price of this incredible 1970 Chevrolet Nova, and they’ll even pay the taxes, so you don’t have to!
We ran a story about this 1970 Chevy Nova a while back, but if you didn’t purchase your ticket(s) for a chance to win it, you’d better hurry. This prize package is set to end on November 16, 2023. The chances of winning will depend on how many tickets are finally sold, but if you don’t get a ticket, your chance of winning is absolutely zero.
About This 1970 Chevy Nova
Any 1970 Chevy Nova has all the classic lines Chevrolet imbued them with when they left the factory, but being a “resto-mod,” this car goes one step further in making this the perfect boulevard bruiser. We described this particular Nova as a “day-two” muscle car. Think of it as a “like-new” Nova that has spent a day or two in a hot rodder’s garage and received some additional go-fast goodies.
That hot rodder could have been a modern-day Dick Harrell or Don Yenko, looking at the modifications done to this car. There’s the requisite white-ball shifter knob atop that Hurst-shifted four-speed, and of course, there’s a tachometer, keeping track of the under-hood rev count. But that’s where this car really starts to shine.
From Bolt-Ons To Big-Block
The automotive aftermarket is full of many bolt-on components designed to make these cars quicker off the line. A proven way to give any car a hefty kick is to drop a big-block Chevy engine under the hood. This car enjoys both. There are suspension upgrades, which include a set of CalTrac traction bars and staggered (14/15-inch) wheels wearing dog-dish hubcaps, but the star of the show is the modern-day L88 big-block found under the hood.
Many highly esteemed tuners back in the day purchased crate-engine big-blocks and stuffed them into a variety of smaller cars. This 1970 Chevy Nova carries that proven recipe, but uses a modern Chevrolet Performance ZZ427/480 big-block V-8 for the most bang for the buck. Updated with Chevy Performance’s aluminum heads, the latest-generation Chevy block is stuffed with an all-forged rotating assembly and a hydraulic, roller camshaft for low-maintenance operation and improved drivability. The single, four-barrel carburetor feeds the fuel to a pump-gas-friendly 10.0:1 compression ratio.
