Restomod builds are not uncommon, even those that go far to blend old-school and modern styling. However, sometimes when pushing the envelope to blend two different eras, things turn out, well, unique to say the least. Sure, it’s always nice to see a build that is outside of the box, and while some may think it’s pretty cool, it is likely not everyone’s cup of tea. Hardcore traditional Mustang enthusiasts just may be cringing at the very sight.

We stumbled across this eBay listing of a 1967 Ford Mustang Restomod built by Heller Ford out of Illinois. The build was completed over the course of two years and an insane $180,000 total was spent on this ride from start to finish, which is a large chunk of change to spend on any build. Not only were many dollars put into this ride, 3,000 engineering man hours were also logged into this project according to the listng.

With a quick glance of the photos, the body line screams early-S197 Mustang. According to the eBay seller description, indeed it is a brand new 2005 Mustang GT with metal ’67 Mustang body panels that have been grafted to fit, and in some places widened 8-inches.

Powering this one-of-a-kind project is a Saleen supercharged 4.6-liter V-8 connected to a five-speed auto with just 2,000 miles on the clock. At least they gave this Mustang concoction bit of oomph.

HRE wheels shod with Pirelli radial tires partially hide Brembo four-wheel disc brakes. Inside of the car looks to be a stock 2005 GT interior with that bright red leather.

Bidding starts at $50,000 with the reserve not met. With the cost of the build, it’s likely they are looking for some big bucks. If interested, item number 360983451030 can be yours!
