While we were surfing the eBay auctions we spotted this wild 95′ Impala SS that was built to run the Impala Racing Series. It was a former record holder and world champion in the series. This car still retains all the options and they are fully functional right down to the power mirrors and CD changer. The car was built using only the best parts available.
The engine is the LT-1 and it still runs a stock ECM and factory O2 sensors for fuel and spark management. Using nitrous for the power adder it runs off a dual fuel pump system and a Crane Fireball Ignition to keep it lit. The engine runs a Competition Cams camshaft and roller rockers, and a modified throttle body and intake manifold.
All the power transfers through a modified Turbo 400 transmission with a manual valve body, Ultra Bell housing, and Neal Chance Nitrous converter. In the rear is a built 9″ Ford with adjustable coil overs and trick springs to help it hook at the track during those hard nitrous launches.
The car runs very well and is street legal and can be driven easily on the street, as it comes with slicks and DOT street tires. The paint and interior is very nice and the six point roll bar and five point harnesses fit right at home in this dual purpose machine.
Wouldn’t it be cool to show up at the cruise night in this sedan knowing its capable of blowing the doors off most of the modern muscle that is out there today. As of this story it was still available and it could be in your driveway.
