eBay Find: Peter Brock Replica/Tribute 1963 Ford Falcon Panel

eBay is often an interesting place in which to find all sorts of unusual items, a global yard sale if you will. While some finds turn out to be less than desirable, we’ve stumbled upon a rare treasure in this 1963 Ford Falcon Shelby Peter Brock delivery vehicle replica.

Beginning with a solid candidate that was mostly rust free and had only a dent in the driver’s door, the entire car was stripped down to bare metal and completely redone. The exterior now boasts Wimbledon White paint with classic blue Shelby stripes.

The interior was completely restored with high grade black vinyl bucket seats, a new console and a special treat in the glove box, Peter Brock’s signature. Shelby gauges and a custom fiberglass pod modeled after the original along with a rear window switch located under the dash give this cool “grocery getter” a touch of the eccentric.

If you aren’t impressed yet, maybe the 302 block punched out to 331 cubic inches with Trick Flow aluminum heads, Scat crank, rods and pistons and a Paxton supercharger will get you revved up. This 500 hp five-speed beauty will get you wherever you want to go in style, and quickly!

History of the Original Peter Brock Tow car

This car was not owned by Peter Brock, but the car that inspired it is an interesting tail of muscle car and racing lore. Brock who was Shelby American’s designer, used one as a company delivery truck and race car tow vehicle. Using one of Brock’s own self designed car trailers, he would tow his Lotus 11 and Cooper-Climax race cars to various events. Brock felt an enclosed van would suit his needs better than a truck, as he could secure his tools and even sleep in it. It eventually also transported Cobras and Shelby personnel to and from the test sessions at Riverside. Later Brock modified the front suspension to GT350 specs relocating the upper A arms.

For the 1963 model year only 925 standard falcon panels and 332 deluxe versions were built.  Derived from the Falcon station wagon the van of course lacked rear side windows and a back seat.

Other than the original, this is the only replica of the Peter Brock Shelby tow vehicle known to exist. Bidding has already ended, and no word on whether it sold as the reserve wasn’t met.
