Car thieves are scum, but when they steal from a veteran then they hit a new level of depravity. It is too bad that Dante was not alive to write the Inferno, because a Florida car thief would be earning his own level of hell.
According to 7 News, Omar Sixto was fixing the windshield wiper on his C5 Corvette when he was attacked. His attacker brutally attacked the Vietnam veteran and stole his red convertible Corvette. Fortunately, Sixto is tough, but he sustained broken bones and other injuries when he was allegedly attacked by Arturo Breton. The 23-year-old Breton has been arrested for the beating of 72-year-old veteran along with the theft of his 2000 Corvette.
Sixto stated that he was at a friend’s house fixing the windshield wiper, when he noticed a man who was pacing on the street. Moments later, Sixto came to, covered in blood only to find his beloved Corvette missing. After receiving medical treatment, Sixto was concerned that he would never see his Corvette again.
As it turned out, a 7 News viewer saw the report, and spotted the Corvette on the way to work. This viewer called police and they were able to apprehend Breton for the attack and the theft of the convertible. Based on the information available, it appears that the Corvette suffered very little damage in comparison to its owner. Sixto has been reunited with his Corvette, but he is spending time at his brother’s house while he recovers from the brutal attack.
