All across the country, summer is the season of the hot rod. Warmer weather and longer days make for an excellent platform for car shows. Goodguys Rod and Custom Association will once again be taking full advantage of the season for the 21st year at the Summer Get-Together in Pleasanton, California.
Staged at the Alameda County Fairgrounds May 31- June 1, the 21st Summer Get-Together will be loaded to the rooftop with more than 2,000 American made or powered hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, and trucks of all years. An indoor car show exhibit will be set up so attendees can get a break from the heat as well as an indoor custom bicycle exhibit loaded with vintage and custom hand-built bicycles.
In addition to the normal Goodguys events like the epic Autocross battles, swap meet, and Auto Trader Classics Cars 4 Sale Corral, this Summer Get-Together will be featuring the Model and Pedal Car Show, Tri-Valley Quarter Midget Association Racing and Pinstripers Brush Bash. Pinstripers from all over will be set up with displays of their talented artwork as well as chatting it up about the ins and outs of pinstriping. “Brush Bash is basically all these really talented stripers getting together” said Kyle Martin of Kustom Print and Pinstriping.
High School students will be competing in the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge on Saturday to see who can tear down and build an engine the fastest. There will be no shortage of activities for the kids; PPG is hosting a Kids Coloring Contest, Revell will have their Model Car Make n’ Take set up and the Kid’s Alley will be home to clowns, magicians, games, and more.
Gorgeous cars and weather will make for an awesome show. For more information on the Goodguys Rod and Custom Association Summer Get-Together, head on over to www.good-guys.com.
