Coming up this weekend on July 4-6 in Des Moines, Iowa is the 23rd Annual Goodguys Heartland Nationals. There is no better way to celebrate our great country’s Independence Day than surrounding yourself with pure Americana.
Held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds, the Heartland Nationals will be bursting at the seams with events. More than 4,000 pre-1972 hot rods, customs, classics, muscle cars, and trucks will be lined up next to each other. All American Sunday will draw in makes and models from all year ranges. Vendors from all over the country will have their products and services out on display. Kids will get the opportunity to participate in the Revell Model Car Make n’ Take as well as the PPG Kids Coloring Contest. A giant fireworks show will light up the sky Saturday night.
More than 4,000 American-made vehicles will be lined up next to each other at the Iowa State Fairgrounds.
The Heartland Nationals cruises and parties are top of the line. A Poker run is set up to help kick start the weekend, followed by a kick-off party at the local Marriott. Friday gets loaded up with a Fairgrounds Twilight Cruise that takes you around historic Grand Avenue as well as a parking lot party at T.G.I. Fridays.
For those who don’t have a trailer queen, Goodguys is setting up several special featured parking areas such as Homebuilt Heaven, Trick Truck Corral, Duece Doins, and several others. Each participant gets a custom dash plaque. As usual, special awards will be given out through-out the weekend. Awards like Goodguys Builder’s Choice Awards by Roger Burman of Lakeside Rods & Rides, 2014 Goodguys/Street Rod Headquarters Truck of the Year Early Finalist, Street Rodder Top 100 Event, and PPG Dream Car will surely grab everyone’s attention.
If you are in the area or even if you aren’t, the Heartland Nationals is a can’t-miss show–it’s easily one of the biggest of the year. For more information on Goodguys and the Heartland Nationals, visit www.good-guys.com.
