Flowmaster has been known for their deep throaty sound and aggressive approach to performance exhaust systems for years. In 1983 there was a problem with California Sprint Car racers who needed to quiet their cars down or lose their privilege to go racing. Previous attempts to decrease the sound came with another decrease that was unwanted: power.
Then a man named Ray Flugger entered the scene with his 45+ years experience and the problem was solved. The founder of Flowmaster from Kenwood, California, created the first patented design of racing silencers, known as “suitcase mufflers” for their square shape and the “handles” Ray attached for carrying them, and they’re still around today.
Flowmaster’s success is a result of years of development with top race builders and countless hours of dyno research and real world track testing. With facilities in California and Idaho, Flowmaster has over 400 different muffler models and more than 370 exhaust systems to make your car sound the way you want it to sound.
