You have to be proud of our young men and women who serve this country, and 23 year-old Jeryd from Southern California is equally proud of his 71 Chevrolet C10 Pickup. On Pro-Touring.com, he says he found this truck on Craigslist with some help from his dad, who bought the truck while Jeryd was out on deployment.
Of the nine different vehicles Jeryd has owned in his young life, this was his first truck. But this truck wasn’t going to remain stock, it was going to get closer to the ground like all of his other rides. He visited Quality Air Ride’s web site and his suspension began its transformation, giving him the stance he wanted.
Starting with a fairly clean truck in primer, Jeryd’s head filled with ideas from colors to power plants, and everything in between. He scoured local car shows in search of the right color, and then it hit him like a ton of bricks. He was at the Goodguys Car Show in Del Mar, CA, and saw RideTech’s Velocity Camaro and he knew that was the color for his C10.
Between deployments, Jeryd visited his dad in Northern Colorado to help make his truck show worthy. While out on his next deployment, his dad sent him pictures of the progress. Imagine the excitement and anticipation of seeing your vehicle come to life a picture at a time while you’re out serving your country.
I’m sure Jeryd’s father is extremely proud of his son, and it shows in the meticulous work and beautiful paint applied to this truck. The C10 is now at home in Southern California, but don’t think it’s finished just yet – Jeryd has already bought an LQ4 Vortec, LS2 heads and a bunch of other goodies to keep him busy.
