There’s nothing quite like taking your prized hot rod out and about rather than just letting it sit in a garage for most of its life. When it comes to road tours put on by the Goodguys Rod & Custom Assocaition, we’re not just talking about cruising from one town to the next; we’re talking about hundreds of miles traveled in some awesome vintage rides.

The Goodguys Rod & Custom Association has been putting together unique road tours for a number of years, like the RodFather Tour we checked in with back in 2012.
Following the road tour tradition, Goodguys has just announced their 2014 Hall of Fame Road Tour, which will take place this fall on the way to the 22nd annual Lone Star Nationals held at the Texas Motor Speedway. This particular tour is in honor of Jack Trepanier, who the hot rod community lost earlier this year.
“We wanted to pay tribute to Jack Trepanier and decided an appropriate way was to dedicate the ‘Tour in his memory,’” Ed Capen of Goodguys stated in a recent news release. “Jack and Troy had such a blast on last year’s inaugural Road Tour. Jack praised it as one of the best he’d ever been on. Jack and Troy are all about driving the masterpieces they build so we thought it would be a fitting way to honor his memory.”
The Hall of Fame Road Tour presented by Barrett-Jackson and Meguiar’s will kick off at the Goodguys headquarters in Pleasanton, California on Thursday, September 25th. Limited to just 50 cars, the tour will then travel 2,400 miles in just eight days to participate in the 22nd Lone Star Nationals taking place October 3rd through the 5th.

Along the way, participants will get to spend time at a number of private car collections, and well-known businesses like Speedway Motors, Lucky 7 Speed Shop, Pinkee’s Rod Shop and Kindig-It Design. There will also be stops made at Miller Motorsports park, Kicker Car Audio, Racedeck, Steve Cook Creations, and Colorado’s historic Stanley Hotel (the filming location for The Shining TV mini series).

Just like with the 2012 RodFather Tour, participants of the 2014 Hall of Fame Road Tour can look forward to traveling through a number of states to significant hot rod landmarks on their way to their final destination!
An all-inclusive tour, participants will receive hotel accommodations, some meals, commemorative t-shirts, hats decals and a Road Tour booklet, entry into the Lone Star Nats., Texas Motor Speedway cruise tickets and a support trailer the entire length of the tour included with their registration fees.
Coming along for the ride this year are George Poteet, Harold and Tracy Chapman, Brent Vandervort, Greening Auto Company’s Jesse and Jeff Greening, and of course, Jack Trepanier’s talented hot rod builder of a son, Troy Trepanier.
With participation limited for such a unique event, spots for the 2014 Hall of Fame Road Tour are sure to fill up fast, so if you’re interested in joining the group, be sure to register soon!

On the 2014 Hall of Fame Road Tour, you can expect to see plenty of well-known faces just like with the RodFather Tour, which featured Andy and Roy Brizio, as well as Marc and Gary Meadors.
