In the two years leading up to the reveal of the 2015 Mustang we saw dozens of renderings from various graphic artists, designers, and enthusiasts alike. With the official car going on sale in only a few months and the appearance of it no long a secret, we’ve seen more than a handful of “what-if” renderings done where aftermarket companies have put their own spin on the car.
This week our friends over at LateModelRestoration.com sent us two renderings that were done by their customer Harris Lue. Lue is a graphic design student at East Carolina University, and his web-site is full of cool renderings of a variety of cars, including several others of the 2015 Mustang not show here.
The first of Lue’s renderings that LateModelRestoration.com sent us is of a 2015 done in LateModelRestoration.com’s colors and wearing the company’s SVE wheels. It’s obvious from this rendering a few other design tweaks have been performed as well. These include lowering the car, removing the running horse from the grille, and from the looks of the rendering adding to it some bigger brakes. There’s a second with similar tweaks, done in white with black graphics, sans the LateModelRestoration.com logo.
The third rendering Lue sent was of a 2015 in Cobra Jet livery. Wearing Weld Racing S71 RT-S wheels, and decked out in white, blue, and black, this car just looks mean. Ford had previously told us a body in white would be available with a solid rear axle for racers looking to head to the strip with a car in the new body style, and we’ve also been told the Cobra Jet program will live on, as Ford has renewed interest in sportsman level drag racing, and is pulling their support out of many of the pro level classes.
We can’t wait for 2015 Mustangs to start hitting the streets, and for the modifications to start rolling in. The SEMA show should be a packed with these cars this year, and we’re sure LateModelRestoration.com will als be doing some work with these cars as fast as they can get their hands on them.
